Sights to see and things to do when in San Miguel de Allende

Sights to see and things to do when in San Miguel de Allende can be overwhleming. When we go to San Miguel de Allende, I must confess that we go to eat. This unlikely resort town in the middle of Mexico has some excellent restaurants due to, and I hate to admit this, the Gringolandian's influence.

But, eating is not the only thing there to do. The Gringolandian's influence has brought many intriguing things for the tourist and expat alike.

Whether a professional writer or artist or just a hack, there are classes you can take even as a tourist. There are, in fact, classes for just about anything.

You can take art class, writing classes or workshops, classes in cooking, computers, crafts, dog training, Financial Counseling, Health and Personal Development, Jewelry, Language, Leather, Permaculture, Piano, Photography, Sculpture, Stained Glass, Swimming & Water Aerobics,Yoga...there's something for all.

San Miguel de Allende has a resort-tourist trap feel to it. That doesn't mean it's bad. You should know that you won't be visiting a small colonial village where you can soak up the history and culture. That changed long ago.

As a Day-Tripper you can avail yourself of the restaurants, see the churches (you have to see the churches!), cruise the market, and shop to your heart's content in all the hoity-toity shops and charge up your credit card to the max!

Or, if all you want to do is kick back and relax, you can do that too in the center of town in the Jardin lined with ample benches.
