Eateries and Restaurants in San Miguel de Allende

Eateries: The very first time we went to San Miguel de Allende and ate at a rather nice restaurant, I got sicker than a dog and had to spend three days in the hotel bed grossing the hell out of the maid each morning.

I think it was from Chinese food but never was sure. At that time we never bought anything "off the street" to eat and only frequented restaurants. So, who knows?

Subsequent experience in the restaurants of San Miguel de Allende have been excellent. The selection is vast, the food seems to be incomparable for the Mexican Highlands (with the exception of Mexico City) and the service has always been, thus far, friendly and attentive.

Mama Mia's is our favorite for the Calzones alone. You pay dearly but you will get a meal fit for a King.
